If you are making crafts with the kids it’s possible you’ll end up putting them in the recycle bin within a couple of weeks. The crafts that I mean, not the kids. So why not get your supplies from the dollar store? The kids won’t notice any difference in the paper plates, the glue, the paint, or the tissue paper. However, your wallet will thank you for it.

This quick and easy wiggly eye pumpkin dollar store craft goes together in under 30 minutes.

Supplies

Wiggly Eye Pumpkin Craft
  • Dollar Store Foam Pumpkins. You can use any kind of dollar store pumpkin really. I just chose to use foam pumpkins because it is inevitable that one will be dropped on a foot at some point.
  • Dollar Store Wiggly Eyes. Some dollar stores have more interesting glow-in-the-dark or bloodshot options available at this time of year.
  • Acrylic Craft Paint. We have used black but purple would also be a fabulous option.
  • Liquid Glue.
  • Paintbrush.

Wiggly Eye Pumpkins: Dollar Store Craft – Instructions

Step One

Paint a basecoat of black craft paint onto your pumpkin and let it dry. Apply a second and a third coat, if necessary. Be sure to let each coat dry completely before applying the next.

Step Two

Apply dots of liquid glue on the surface of the pumpkin. Then place wiggle eyes on in a random fashion, filling in all available spaces. We found it was better to do a strip at the top of the pumpkin first. Then we added a second strip and finally a third, uneven strip to look like drips. This prevented the glue drying before we could get to it with the eyes.
