If you are frustrated because you just can’t get your teenagers out of bed then you are most certainly not alone. You may find yourself either nagging them constantly about getting up and do their chores which is a miserable way to start the day for all concerned or else you might end up doing everything yourself because it is less stressful.

Even if there are no chores, or lessons, or school, or work to get up for, you might just want to encourage your teen to begin their day by getting up and moving instead of spending an extra five hours in bed with just the glow of their phone for company.

If you want to put an end to the eternal stresses of rousing your teenager from bed you can find all of the hints and tips below.

Start The Day With Love

If you want to give your teen a good start to the day then it is a good idea for you to tell them that you love them. Start off with “Good morning, love you” instead of “get up now”. This will help to give them a positive start to the morning or terrify them out of bed. Either way it works and it is a great way to avoid a negative start to the eternal parent-teen day of tug-of-war.

Encourage Them To Go Out With Friends

If your teenager just stays in bed all day and they don’t want to go out with their friends then this could be a sign that they are depressed. They may find it hard to go out and socialize, or they may be finding it hard to have enough time in their day to get everything done. This can be an endless cycle and can cause them to feel even worse about themselves. This can easily lead to behavioral problems as they may begin to release those built up emotions on you. You’ll then start to feel frustrated, so do some research into how to help them and ensure you deal with your disrespectful teenager the right way.

If you want to encourage your teen to go out with their friends more then give them the support they need and offer to drive them somewhere. You could even give them a bit of spending money or just chat with them to see if there are any jobs that they can do to earn for themselves. This is a great way for you to give them the get-up and go they need to really make something out of their day. If you need some additional help, why not consider IsaaXcess?

Is There A Reason?

Your teen may be feeling like they want to spend all day in bed because they are going through a romantic or friendship breakup. They may feel as though nothing they do is worth doing and they may also be a little heart-broken as well. Try and talk to them to see if there is anything that you can do to try and improve their mood.

A lot of people spend so much time trying to fix the situation without first understanding what is wrong and this should never be the case. If you want to really help them then always listen to them and don’t shout at them to get up and do something all the time, as this will only make them feel worse about themselves.
