Cuddle + kind is a new social endeavor created by the Woodgates, a family of five from Ontario, Canada, on a mission to help feed children in need. Filling hearts and bellies around the world. They created cuddle+kind to help feed kids & to make a difference in their lives. For every cuddle+kind doll sold, ten meals will be given to children in need. Cuddle+kind dolls are the only handcrafted, knitted dolls that help feed children around the world.
How will they give ten meals? Through giving relationships, Cuddle +Kind will sponsor feeding in the WFP School Launch program and be able to sponsor the feeding at Orphanages in Haiti through the Children’s Hunger Fund.
Each of the 9 “cuddle+kind” dolls is hand knitted using 100% cotton by an artisan in Peru. To begin with there will be a small production run but your support is needed to unlock the full potential of the project and reach their goal of raising $20,000 to feed children in North America and around the world.
These hand-knit dolls make a fantastic shower gift, birthday or Christmas present and add a modern, colourful touch to any nursery décor. When you visit the website, you can read all about each doll, their name, birth-date and a little mini Bio so you can get to know them. There is also a series of beautiful, inspiration prints available that would bring style & love to any nursery.
The only downside to these lovely dolls is that you can’t choose just one, or even just two three! Evey would like Willow, the reindeer with the ice-cream on her sweater, or Chloe, the pink bunny, or Isla the mermaid because she has orange hair like Evey! I suggested that her brother Gabe might like Everest the penguin (Gabe is autistic & obsessed with penguins) and usually, she would say yes – but on this occasion, she couldn’t help herself and said she really wanted one for herself – and who could blame her? I would love the whole set – especially Benedict the glasses wearing Bunny!
Please support Cuddle + Kind and help them fund the production of more doll characters so they can help feed as many kids as possible. The Indiegogo campaign will allow consumers to buy the product before anyone else for a limited time. You will have the option to buy any one of the nine dolls while supporting an amazing cause all at the same time!
From Derek and Jen Woodgate:
“With a background in health, we recognize the crucial role nutrition plays in a child’s development. As parents, we believe all children should have enough food to eat and an opportunity to thrive, so when we saw a documentary on how widespread childhood hunger is, it made us unbearably sad. On that very day, we decided to do something about it. Our whole family is passionate about what we`re doing and loves every doll we make; we sincerely hope you do too.”
I love this. Every doll sold helps 10 kids get a meal. Great company that helps others.
What a beautiful doll and surely for a noble cause. Will certainly check it out…
