Fall means fun. It can also mean spending more time indoors with the children. As parents we often have to find extra things for their kids to do in order to prevent boredom. These 10 fun fall crafts for kids will certainly keep them entertained.
They will also be developing their fine motor skills while making these fun and exciting fall crafts.
1. Leaf finger puppets
What I like most about these Fall Leaf Finger Puppets (on Crafts by Amanda) is that they can be adapted for different age groups. Even the smallest crafter can manage to glue on a leaf & some eyes but as they get older your kids can make more elaborate puppets. Why not add clothes cut out of paper & stuck on or make characters for a finger puppet theater play? The possibilities are endless!
2. Fall salt dough ornaments
When I saw these Fall Salt Dough Ornaments (on Meaningful Mama) I was instantly taken by the fact they would make great gifts. Make them ahead of time and give to visitors, or your host, at Thanksgiving. You could also tie a number of them to some ribbon and have unique fall bunting.
3.Window tree with suncatcher leaves
The Fall Tree with Suncatcher Leaves– (from Mess for Less) are great for a larger group of children or for a multi day project you could go back to many times during the fall.
4. Super wacky birds
I had to include these Wacky Birds-(Glued to My Crafts Blog) – aren’t they fun? We have also done this using fall leaves instead of feathers.
5. Fall Painted Rock Garden
The site where this craft lived, nolonger exists. So, sorry I had to take this off of the list.
6. Jack-O-Lantern mason jar
The Mason Jar Jack-o-Lantern– from Glued to My Crafts Blog is another great, adaptable craft. You could cover the jar in multi coloured tissue paper and cut out a pumpkin shape to go onto it. Or maybe you could design the faces on your jsra to look just like the faces on your pumpkins!
7. Leaf-shaped suncatchers
The Leaf Suncatchers– by Artsy Momma take a little more work to get them looking this good, but it’s worth it. Once you have cut out these beautiful leaves you can use them in place of leaves in all of you craft projects. There have been many times the leaves on our crafts dried up and crumbled away – but this way they can last forever.
Finally, here are 3 lovely crafts that take the minimum of resources – for great results.
8. Handprint Owl– Fun Handprint Art Blog
9.Apple Magnet– About Family Crafts
10. Autumn Tree Paper Crafts for Kids– Southern Girl Ramblings
And another one bit the dust 🙁
