People who do not enjoy reading sometimes do not appreciate the particular nuances of choosing a book for somebody else. You may know someone who thoroughly enjoyed “The Goldfinch, ” but it doesn’t follow that they will enjoy “To Kill A Mockingbird,” “The Bird Box,” and “The Raven.”
Buy a gift card and you risk looking like you couldn’t be bothered to choose a thoughtful gift. Risk buying a book and you could get them a lemon, so what do you do?
Give a subscription or a one-off box from Cozy Reader Club. Each month you’ll receive 4-6 full-size items including a women’s fiction novel, handmade items, coffee, tea or hot chocolate and gourmet treats, all from local businesses throughout the USA.
We were sent the October box from Cozy Reader Club for review and this is what we received.
Inside the sturdy box, the contents were beautifully presented with the items carefully nestled in packaging material and wrapped in tissue.
I peeled the tissue paper back to reveal an exciting array of goodies.
First up was a package of gourmet coffee from the Kindred Coffee Co, just what I need to get me through those late night “I can’t put this book down” sessions. Alongside that was an artisan smores kit from ticket which was swiftly whisked away and hidden in the cupboard before the kids saw it and I was guilted into sharing.
The star of the box was obviously always going to be the book and I must admit to being a little nervous about receiving a book I hadn’t chosen. I needn’t of worried “The Rules of Magic” by Alice Hoffman was a coming of age story / fantasy / romance / family story that had broad enough appeal to interest most readers.
The box was rounded out with a beautiful silver bangle from Katie Leigh and a quitters strip I mean bookmark because apparently when some people start reading a book, they can stop part way through before they reach the end. Weird.
Would We Recommend Cozy Reader Club?
Cozy Reader Club was started by a mother who wanted to create a way for moms to make some time for themselves while discovering the kind of local teas, coffees, and handmade goods you might discover if you ever had time to walk slowly through quirky neighborhoods without the kids.
Well, mission accomplished. Once the box had been delivered I made some time for myself to sit and read and enjoy the process of sitting and reading as well as enjoying the book. This might sound odd but when you are trying to read your latest tome on the bus while packed between two dozen miserable commuters, you can enjoy the book but not the reading.
Treat someone special to the gift of a good book and time to themselves and buy them a Cozy Reader Club Box today.
