What are your plans for food to watch the Big Game? In case they’re not locked down, you might like to know that 7-Eleven is offering up its Game Day Meal for $19. Why not save time and money and make 7-Eleven your Game Day destination for quality, hot food at a great price?
This week we were lucky enough to be sent a sample of some of the best 7-Eleven offerings. Our team had chicken wings, potato wedges and three large pizzas; one Pepperoni, one Buffalo Ranch Chicken and one BBQ Bacon Pepper (they also do a great cheese pizza!) along with plenty of coke to wash it down with.
What did we think?
Having been a bit dubious about hot food from 7-Eleven, I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality and good taste.
The pizza was well covered with tasty toppings, right to the edge, and the base was firm enough for you to eat a slice without it drooping – excellent. I favoured the BBQ Bacon Pepper flavour and had to fight Joshua for the last slice. Of course, I won so he had to settle for the Pepperoni, but he didn’t mind because that one was darned tasty too. The Buffalo Ranch Chicken was too spicy for me, but that’s not to say it wasn’t good, it just wasn’t to my taste, and it was also quickly polished off by the team – no leftovers here.
The chicken wings were just the right level of crispy, no soggy spots or coatings that fall off, and the dips that came with them were also delicious. They also bought out the primaeval in the team. People were sitting around checking out each other’s plates and comparing them against their own. It was like a bunch of cavemen making sure nobody had more mammoth to eat than they did.
That suited me, while skirmishes threatened to break out around the table over the wings, I was free to scoff loads of potato wedges before anyone else realised what was happening. I could have eaten the whole tub by myself.
To round off our meal I checked in with Josh who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of our local pizza places, flavours, prices and sides. His opinion was “Yes I’d buy this again” and that, Gane Day fans, is what I call a recommendation.
